📁 FolderMirror – simple automatic folder mirroring
FolderMirror is a simple Windows application that automatically keeps the contents of a selected destination folder identical to the source folder.
It is designed mainly for users who want an easy way to mirror working folders into locally synchronized folders used by services such as Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive, or into another folder or storage location available in Windows.

- perform an initial synchronization and then react to further changes,
- select folders with a button or simply drag them from Windows File Explorer,
- quickly select common local folders used by cloud services,
- start FolderMirror together with Windows,
- automatically start mirroring after the application launches,
- run in the background in the system tray,
- export the configured source and destination paths to a foldermirror_items file,
- import a saved list of source and destination paths back into the application,
- use the interface in multiple languages.
🔄 How does mirroring work?
For each mirror, the user selects a source folder and a destination folder. The source is authoritative. FolderMirror then adjusts the destination so that its contents match the source.
FolderMirror is not a traditional two-way synchronization tool and it is not a replacement for a separate backup. Its purpose is to create and continuously maintain a one-way source → destination mirror.
☁️ Practical use
A typical example is a working folder on your computer that you want to mirror automatically into a Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive folder.
FolderMirror watches the source folder. When a file changes, a new folder is created, something is renamed or removed, the application updates the destination so it matches the current state of the source.
📤 Export and import settings
Configured source and destination pairs can be exported to a foldermirror_items file. This file can later be imported and the saved pairs will be added to any existing mirrors.
Export and import are available only when mirroring is not currently running.
🖥️ System
FolderMirror is a desktop application designed for 64-bit Windows. The application does not require a user account.

📄 Terms of Use
By using FolderMirror, the user agrees to these Terms of Use. If the user does not agree with them, the application should not be used.
1. Purpose of the application
FolderMirror is a tool designed for one-way mirroring of content between a source folder and destination folder selected by the user.
The application may also be used together with locally synchronized folders of cloud services. FolderMirror is not the operator of these services and does not connect to them through a user account.
2. Mirror mode and file deletion
FolderMirror uses mirror synchronization in which the source folder is authoritative. The destination folder is adjusted to match its current contents.
Files and folders that exist only in the destination may be removed during mirroring. The user is therefore responsible for verifying before starting that the correct source and destination have been selected.
3. User responsibility
The user is responsible for selecting the source and destination folders, for having the necessary permissions to those folders, and for checking the result of the mirroring process.
Before using FolderMirror with important data for the first time, we recommend testing the function with temporary test folders.
4. Availability and compatibility
The operator aims to provide a properly functioning application, but cannot guarantee error-free operation on every Windows configuration, every disk, network storage device or every version of third-party software.
Mirroring may be affected by factors such as an unavailable disk, insufficient permissions, locked files, insufficient free space, network outages or the behavior of an external synchronization client.
5. Third-party cloud services
If the user selects a Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or other cloud-service folder as the destination, the actual communication with the cloud is handled by the relevant third-party application or service.
Use of these services is governed by their own terms, privacy policies and technical limitations.
6. Export and import
The exported foldermirror_items file contains saved source and destination paths. The user is responsible for storing it securely and for any sharing of that file.
7. Updates
FolderMirror may be updated from time to time in order to fix bugs, improve security, improve compatibility or add new features.

These terms may be updated when necessary. The current version will always be available on this page.

🔐 Privacy Policy
FolderMirror is designed as a simple local utility. It does not require a user account or registration for normal use.
1. User account and personal data
FolderMirror does not require the user to enter a name, email address, phone number or create a user profile.
2. Local settings
The application stores settings locally on the computer that are required for its operation, such as selected source and destination folders, language settings and options related to application startup and automatic mirroring.
These settings are used to restore the working environment the next time the application is started.
3. File contents
FolderMirror works with folder contents locally on your computer. The contents of mirrored files, your file names and the list of configured folders are not sent to Joto.sk servers as part of normal mirroring.
If the destination folder is part of Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or another synchronization service, any further transfer of data is handled by that provider's software according to its own rules and policies.
4. Anonymous installation counter
On the first successful connection, FolderMirror sends a simple request to the data.joto.sk server to increment an anonymous installation counter.
This request does not include the user's name, email address, user account, source or destination paths, or the contents of mirrored files.
As with any internet connection, standard network information necessary to establish the connection and operate the web server may be technically processed at the server level.
5. Exported foldermirror_items file
If the user uses the export function, the created foldermirror_items file contains the paths to the saved source and destination folders.
The file is created in a location chosen by the user. FolderMirror does not automatically send it to any server. Because paths may contain user names or names of work folders, we recommend treating this file as a configuration file containing information about your computer.
6. Cloud services
FolderMirror does not request login credentials for Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and does not access their user accounts.
If you use a synchronized folder from a cloud service, data processing by that service is governed by the provider's own privacy policy.
7. Advertising and sale of data
FolderMirror does not include an advertising system based on user profiling. We do not sell user data for advertising purposes.
8. Security
During development, we aim to minimize the amount of data required by the application and to keep working settings local on the user's device whenever possible.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if the application's features, technologies used or legal requirements change. The current version will always be available on this page.
